ACCC
All Children's City Chorus. It all started when Izzy and Dave got a singing part in the primary program this year and have been practicing "He Sent His Son" together. Dave asks the question and Izzy answers in the song. I knew they had great voices, but wow, they really knocked me over. Izzy has such a pure little voice and David's is strong and right on key. It just worked out that since Dave and Izzy are so close in years, 19 months apart, that they were both eligible for the choir. And it also worked out that the third graders in Cheyenne were invited to a ACCC concert, really a promotion, a couple weeks ago. I attended with Izzy and we fell in love. So, we got the info and found out the kids needed to audition. I guess I didn't realize how big of deal ACCC is. I have since found out that this little Cheyenne Wyoming choir is Nationally known and was invited to sing at the Christmas Tree lighting in Washington D.C. this December. Holy Moly right? So the kids practiced their audition piece, which was America the Beautiful. They sang so beautifully! So the day the kids were supposed to auditon I was out of town with my mom visiting family. I was sort of glad because I was nervous and I didn't want to project that onto the kids, so Enoch took them. I told Enoch how to do Izzy's hair and I also told him that the kids had to be dressed up. Izzy protested, but it's a good thing they did dress up. When they were auditioning with their group of kids, the instructor said, "Thank you to all of you who went the extra mile and dressed up for auditions." Enoch told me that our kids were the only ones who dressed up in our group. So thank you mother for teaching me that dressing up is important! So, when I got home, I asked the kids how they did. Izzy said confidently, "I know I made it!" David said, "It went really good." I was so excited for them, but I still had a week to wait for their results ahhhhhhh! So all week I religiously checked my email. Nothing nothing nothing all week. I had given up all hope that they made it. So when I got up this morning, I sat on Enoch's lap and we were just checking the usual websites together. F.B., Email and to my utter suprise bam their was an email from ACCC. Oh, I could hardly contain myself, but I was scared because what if one of the kids made it and the other didn't? Well, we looked through the email and it said your CHILD has been accepted into ACCC. We didn't know which CHILD they were talking about. so we emailed them back and within a few minutes we got a response. I opened the email scanned all the way to the bottom where it said DAVID AND ELIZABETH have been accepted into the choir. I was floored. This isn't an easy choir to get into, a lot a lot a lot of kids auditioned and both Izzy and Dave made it! So the rest of the story is we will have a terribly busy schedule next year, and the kids are starting out in the lower choir. this means the Washington D.C. trip is not available to them, but when they get older and better singers, they can audition for the concert chior and get to travel. All of Enoch's siblings, except Luke, were in ACCC and it is neat to see the kids follow in their Dad's footsteps. Enoch got to go to disney land when he sang in ACCC. I am so excited for the children. They are going to be part of one of the best children's choirs in the nation here in little podunk Cheyenne Wyoming:)
