Candy and Kool-aid
So the first day of Scout Camp didn't go all that good for David. From the previous post you can see that he had a camel back on and because of that he consistently peed the whole day. They said it was like clock work! I can laugh about this now but I was a little miffed when I found out that the leaders thought I only packed candy and kool-aid for him to eat and drink. The camel back had flavored water in it, which was orange in appearance, hince the misconception that it was kool-aid. THE NERVE. If you could peek in the window for breakfast, lunch and dinner at my house you would clearly see that we drink silk, milk and water. Kool-aid? Whatever! And what's this that I only packed candy? yeah right! Once again, there are lots and lots of fruits and veggies at this house, yes we have ice cream often, but who cares, we love it! He had plenty to eat that was nutritous but let's face it he's 10 not 33 with a muffin top, the kid needs fat and lots of calories to keep his active little body going. Yesterday, I kept the camel back home and there were no complaints. Today he went swimming all morning and I'm sure he'll need extra FAT calories (that's a whopping 9 cal per gram of fat) to support that kind of activity. Oh no, I guess I'll bring kool-aid and ding dongs for a snack!
