Sick boy
David is my hypochondriac. We noticed this a long time ago, but now it's getting quite aggravating to say the least. I've been trying to think of what I can do to help him understand that complaining is a lot like crying wolf, because obviously he's done it so much that now we can't tell whether he's sick or not. We even had a story at family home evening a few months ago about the boy who cried wolf. He loved the story...but didn't make the connection. Darn! So, David keeps on complaining every time he has a sore throat or a mild cough or any spot, bruise or pain he feels on his body. So today he came out of school crying. He said his throat hurt soooo bad that he wasn't going to be able to make it to Lyric Choir. What he didn't know is that I got a call from the school nurse five minutes earlier and I already called David in sick. But I wasn't going to make it that easy for him. I sent him to the shower as soon as we got home and then off to bed he went. I am sure with all the rest *wink wink* he will be feeling much better tomorrow. And from now on, I will be using the method my mom used and her mom used...etc and so on. By the way, this is the method I hated the most, and which worked the best for me. Wonder what took me so long to realize I needed to use it on David?
